Aamina Mahir HalAlamin
Aamina Mahir HalAlamin served for many years as the personal secretary to the Chief Executive Officer of the Lost-Found Nation of Islam, the Honorable Silis Muhammad. Aamina participated in the international reparations work for years, involved from the origin to the conclusion.
Today Aamina is Executive Editor of Sister's Quarterly, an internet newsletter for women of color, globally. She is also the owner and creator of Apparel for Unity, a t-shirt and clothing line designed to support the Afrodescendant Reparations effort.
Being employed in such establishments as New York Hospital, Museum of Modern Art, Metropolitan Opera in New York City, Psychiatric Institute of Atlanta, and as Administrative Assistant at the AFIBA Community Center in Los Angeles has helped Aamina with her own personal endeavors.
Born and raised in Compton and Los Angeles, California, Aamina has attended Los Angeles City College as well as Georgia State in Atlanta. She lived in San Francisco in her early life in order to study Ballet where she was able to perform with Pacific Ballet Company. She then ventured on to New York City where she performed with a variety of companies doing African, Jazz and Modern dance. Aamina now performs in the Ballroom arena and has competed in many Ballroom and Latin competitions throughout the United States.
